Roof windows and lanterns are the quickest way to put daylight into a dark room, and when they are fitted well they are no more trouble than any other part of the roof. When they are fitted badly, they are the first place it leaks. We supply and fit roof windows, flat rooflights and roof lanterns across West Yorkshire, and we do the flashing and weatherproofing ourselves.
Velux and roof windows
We fit Velux and Keylite windows into slate, tile and flat roofs, new or existing. Each window gets the manufacturer’s flashing kit for the covering it is going into, lead or soakers where the detail needs it, and the surrounding slates or tiles re-laid properly. Centre-pivot, top-hung, conservation style and electric options are all available.
Roof lanterns
A lantern is the centrepiece of a kitchen extension. We build the kerb into the flat roof at the right height, dress the GRP or membrane up and over it, and fit the lantern onto a dry, square base. Doing the lantern and the roof together means one guarantee covers the lot.
Flat rooflights
Where a lantern would be too much, a fixed or opening flat rooflight gives the same daylight with a lower profile. They suit garage conversions, bathrooms and utility rooms and sit neatly in a GRP or single-ply roof.
Replacing an old roof window
Old roof windows fail at the seals, the hinges and the flashing. We replace like-for-like, or upsize where the rafters allow, and renew the flashing at the same time.
