Huddersfield was built in millstone grit and roofed in Welsh slate and local stone slate, and the housing climbs the valley sides at pitches that catch every bit of weather coming off the Pennines. Roofs here work harder than almost anywhere in West Yorkshire, and the detail matters: lead valleys that take serious water, verges that face the wind, and chimneys that stand well clear of the ridge.
We re-roof in natural slate on the stone terraces of Lindley, Marsh, Almondbury and Golcar, re-lay stone slate where it survives, and fit concrete and slate-effect tile on the semis of Dalton, Waterloo and Birkby. Leadwork is a big part of Huddersfield work, and we do our own.
Brighouse, Mirfield and the Calder Valley towards Elland have a similar mix of stone terraces and later brick estates, and we cover storm damage and insurance work right across the area.
Getting to Huddersfield
Huddersfield is about twenty-five minutes from Morley via the M62, with Mirfield, Brighouse, Kirkheaton and Lindley on the near side of town. Holmfirth, Marsden and the Colne Valley are a little further and we are regularly out that way.
